BuildLockr provides tools for creating, managing, sharing, and purchasing automotive build-related content and related community features. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without liability.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Not share accounts or transfer account access without authorization

3.2 Account Types

We offer different account types:

• Enthusiast: Browse and purchase blueprints
• Creator: Create, sell, and manage blueprints
• Admin: Platform administration and moderation

4. Content and Intellectual Property

4.1 User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of your original content. By posting or uploading content, you grant BuildLockr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify for technical formatting, display, perform, and distribute that content solely to operate, improve, and promote the Service.

4.2 Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that:

• Violates any laws or regulations
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
• Promotes illegal activities
• Contains malware or malicious code
• Is misleading or fraudulent
• Includes malicious or deceptive external links (e.g., phishing, malware, or impersonation)
• Provides instructions intended to defeat vehicle safety or emissions compliance

4.3 External Links (Purchase URLs)

The Service may allow you to include URLs to third-party websites (including purchase links or affiliate links). Third-party websites are not under BuildLockr’s control, and we do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any third-party site, product, service, or content. You access external links at your own risk.

You agree that you will not post links that are harmful, deceptive, fraudulent, or intended to mislead users (including through redirects, obfuscation, or impersonation). You represent that links you post are lawful and do not violate the rights of others.

4.4 Content Moderation

We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, remove, restrict, or refuse content and accounts at our discretion to protect users, BuildLockr, and the Service.

We may remove or disable external links, restrict visibility of content, or suspend accounts in response to reports, suspected abuse, security concerns, or legal risk. We may also apply automated validation to links (for example, blocking unsafe URL schemes or private-network targets).

5. Payments and Transactions

5.1 Payment Processing

Payments are handled by third-party processors (including Stripe). You authorize the applicable processor to charge your selected payment method for all amounts due.

Prices and fees are displayed at checkout and may change at any time. You are responsible for applicable taxes, duties, and governmental charges unless explicitly stated otherwise.

5.3 Refunds

Unless required by applicable law, purchases of digital content are final and non-refundable once access is granted. Any exceptions are handled in our sole discretion or as described in a separate refund policy.

6. Creator Responsibilities

If you are a creator selling content on our platform, you agree to:

• Provide accurate descriptions of your products
• Deliver products as described
• Respond to customer inquiries promptly
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain the quality and accuracy of your content
• Respect intellectual property rights of others
• Maintain rights and permissions necessary to publish and sell your content

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service:

• For any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to perform unlawful acts
• To violate any international, federal, provincial, or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances
• To infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others
• To harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate
• To submit false or misleading information
• To upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code
• To spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuildLockr's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid to BuildLockr in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.

9.3 Safety Disclaimer

Automotive content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute engineering, legal, or safety advice. You are solely responsible for vehicle modifications, compliance, inspections, operation, and any resulting damage or injury.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BuildLockr, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including suspected violations of these Terms, legal risk, or security concerns.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not subject to arbitration must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be resolved on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. DMCA / IP Claims

If you believe content on the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, send notice to legal@buildlockr.com with sufficient detail to identify the material and your claimed rights. We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and may terminate repeat infringers.
